A rare and sophisticated 1920s original design for a French Art Deco lamp.
The piece is a watercolor/gouache applied on a black card.
The shape of the lamp and the motif are pure Art Deco: streamlined flowers in fruity colors, against a lovely "pate de verre" textured glass. (These antique lamps were all hand blown)
Kept away from daylight for the past 90 years, it has retained all its vibrant colors: orange, purplish pink, bright yellow and a fresh green.
The artwork is perfectly done, definitely by a very experienced professional!
Manufacturing references and model number are hand written in black ink at the bottom. The brass metal fixtures have been rendered by the artist in gold.
A very decorative piece with a lot of elegance, which can fit into many decors, from Art Deco to Paris Apartment, Boudoir to Contemporary, etc.
