Antique French Sterling Silver Vermeil Decanter Set 14 Pieces

An exquisite French sterling silver & vermeil fourteen piece decanter set. Crafted by Parisian silversmith Charles Forgelot the set is comprised of two liqueur or aperitif decanters and twelve drink/shot cups with silver holders. The crystal decanters and glasses are etched with musical instruments, ribbons, flaming torches, and quivers. The silver gilt cup holders, decanter sleeves, and stoppers are worked in guilloche style with garland borders. The original presentation box completes this impressive aperitif set. Circa 1900

Fine French sterling silver (.950) and vermeil (18K) as denoted by the French Minerva mark. Maker's punch is for Charles Forgelot; initials CF and portable forge, 1901, 4 avenue de Clichy, Paris. In-sculpted in 1901 and cancelled in 1928.
