A set of fine French sterling silver and gilt melon knives with presentation case. During the 19th Century, silver dining pieces were raised to a new level of form and function finely tuned by master craftsmen. French, Circa 1900, the maker's punch is too worn to read, so I will place these at the turn of the century taking form, function, and design into consideration (they could be earlier).
The handles and ferrules are.950 sterling silver as denoted by the Minerve 1st. Titre mark. The blades are in gilded brass.
Measurements; 6 7/8" long
Condition report; very good, handles and blades are tight, surface scratches in accordance with age and use, one handle has a bit more which could be polished out, several ting dings, some darkening on the gilt blades.
