An antique hand painted coat of arms bearing the names Meredith and Worgan. Featuring a Lion Rampart both above and in the crest, the the piece is worked on thick ecru colored paper. The colors are still vivid and vibrant. Framed in an oval gilt wood frame with a center hook for hanging.
On the back of the piece, a name appears with the date, August 27th, 1832.
Even if you are not related to the Merediths or Worgans, yet enjoy the tradition of family crests/shields this piece will be a fine addition to your collection.
Acquired in England, possibly the crests are for Welsh names. Circa 1832

Condition report; very good for age, some darkening of paper, minor cracks on frame along with a small chip, as expected for age.
