A set of twelve French silver oyster or cocktail forks. The crisp classic design will blend seamlessly with a wide range of flatware patterns.
French, Circa 1865. The handles of the forks are marked for .950 French silver as denoted by the Minerve 1st. Standard punch. The tines of the forks are marked for the second standard .800; the set also bears the punch for Pierre-Désiré Raynaud (PDR & star), his mark was registered on 13 June 1864. His business was located in Paris at 31, rue Michel-le-Comte. He worked until 1887 when C.V. Gibert bought the business.
Measurements; 7 ¾" long
Condition report; very good, minor surface scratches in accordance with age and use. Handles have a few small dings also as expected with the age of the set
