Eapg Victorian glass shaker, 'Zig Zag' pattern, frosted

This antique, frosted glass salt / pepper, shaker is the unique Eapg pattern called 'Zig Zag'. Also called 'Mitered Bars', Or 'Mitred Diamond Points' - this glorious Victorian shaker was made by Bryce Brothers, circa 1880, and also, McKee Bros Glass, circa 1900. This unusual eapg, heavily detailed, glass pattern consists of vertical lines resembling Z 's ( or perhaps even little bolts of lightning )! These "Z's" are then inter-woven with alternating horizontal rings of smooth glass and diamond-point. This is heavy weight, thick glass, frosted - an almost 'pearly' white, with a smooth 'velvety' feel, and embossed with an elaborate star pattern on the bottom surface, as well! Also, It is a bit uncommon to find this pattern in frosted glass - it is most often seen in crystal clear and amber. Measures 3 1/4 inches tall X 1 1/2 inches across the base. In Very Good condition, with only 'microscopic' surface scratches, consistent with age, and the usual characteristics of Victorian glass. The metal lid is in Good shape, also! This antique glass does glow a strong yellow-green under uv blacklight to further verify age. Quite A treasure!
