Victorian milk glass salt shaker set, Diamond base, Sawtooth
This SpLeNdiD pair of Victorian hand-painted, milk glass salt and pepper shakers are called 'Diamond Base', or sometimes 'Sawtooth and Thinline'. Circa 1900 - Unsure of the maker. These antiQue shakers are mold blown, opaque white ‘opalware‘, or milk glass, with delicate hand-painted leaves and flowers on 2 sides of each shaker, and 5 rows of diamond-point or sawtooth around the lower portion. Measuring 3 1/2 inches tall with the lids on X 2 3/4 inches wide across the bulbous base, they are In Excellent condition! The metal lids have only minor spots of corrosion from age. A mArVeLouS Victorian shaker set! ** A bit of roughness on the top rim beneath the lids is a Normal condition for ALL Victorian mold blown glass shakers, since this is where they were snapped off the pontil rod when finished.
