This marvelous antique Victorian Art glass tumbler - often referred to as ‘spatter’ or ‘end-of-day’ glass - is a triple-cased, multi-colored BeAuTy! This antiQue art glass tumbler was skillfully mold-blown with an inner layer of white opal glass, an intermediate layer of multi-colored, or ‘tortoise shell’ spatter glass - all encased in a third layer of shiny clear crystal! It has 24 swirling, raised ribs, a smooth 7/8 inch top rim, and a polished, slightly concave pontil on the bottom. Similar 'spatter' type, mold-blown, art glass items were made by several American glass manufacturers in the late 1800’s, including: Hobbs Brockunier, Phoenix Consolidated, and the Northwood Glass Co. This gorgeous antique tumbler measures 3 3/4 inches tall X 2 3/8 inches across the bottom X 2 5/8 inches across the top opening. In Excellent condition with no chips or cracks - just the usual characteristics of Victorian glass, ie. tiny bubbles, and a very minute bit of roughness around the inner rim.
