Wavecrest art glass shaker, C.F. Monroe, Mt Washington, Victorian salt pepper
This Victorian art glass shaker was decorated by C.F. Monroe Co., circa 1897. This is their famous handpainted 'Wave Crest' decoration. Most C.F. Monroe Glass ware was supplied by Mt. Washington / Pairpoint, and then hand-decorated at the Monroe factory. This Antique opaque opalware (milk glass) Wavecrest shaker is called 'Cube, Tall' or 'Cube, Shortened' and is shown in both Vol.1 and 2 of Lechners "Salt Shakers" books. GoRgEouS Hand painted Wavecrest floral decoration in blues, greens, greys and browns with pale yellow shading. This Rare hand painted Wave crest shaker is a petite square shape measuring 2 1/2 inches tall (without lid) X 1 1/4 inches wide across the base. The painted decoration is in Excellent condition! The corners of this salt, pepper ARE 'banged up' a bit ( it IS priced accordingly) but - considering it's age - really NOT in bad shape! (Close-up photos magnify!!) This shaker displays quite nicely and will be an AweSoMe addition to your art glass collection! ~~ A Hard to find Victorian Monroe / Wave crest shaker!
