1950's Movie Star Scrapbook Over 100 Photos, some signed!

Nina carefully placed all the pieces she received in this scrapbook, noting the date on the scrapbook page (month, day and year) when each item was received. She numbered the pages too! Nearly all the items were received in 1954.

Nina even saved the 2 non-photo postcards received from Joan Fontaine and Joan Evans (one needed to send at least 10 cents to get a picture from those girls, 25 cents for an 8x10, no freebies from them!)

The scrapbook pages have browned over time and become brittle at the binding, corners and edges. Several pages are partially torn near the binding and one page is completely loose from the book. Photos themselves are Excellent Condition Overall. No musty odors. I noticed only 2 photos with discolorations on the front, the 8" x 10" photo of Marilyn Monroe (yellow area across middle) and 8x10 of Red Buttons (red ink smudge from corresponding image of Terry Moore, which was signed with red ink)

Nina used photo corners, not glue, to place the items in this book, so all the photos are removable! Since Nina took such time in assembling this scrapbook, with all the dates noted, we've decided to sell the scrapbook intact, nothing has been removed. It is a virtual time capsule of photographs from the who's who of Hollywood Movies and Television in 1954.

Scrapbook is 42 pages, with 100 photographs. Photos range in size from 3" x 3¼" to 8" x 10" There are glossy prints and matte finish. All are black and white except the last color photo of Charlotte Austin.

A majority of the photos have facsimile signatures, either printed directly in the photo image or stamped onto the surface. I have examined all the photos with a magnifying glass to help determine actual signatures. I do not claim to be an expert on autographs and one should certainly use their own judgment with these items, but the fact that they were so lovingly saved and recorded by date is a much added bonus to determine the authenticity of the collection.

Several key signed photos, in my opinion, would be the signed 5x7 photograph of Rosemary Clooney, signed 5x7 photograph of Grace Kelly (The dress was the one she wore in "Rear Window"), the signed 8x10 of a Sexy Anne Bancroft, posed only in a scarf, signed 5x7 of a Beautiful Brunette Bette White, signed 8x10 of a Sultry Jeanne Crain, with a kitten on her shoulder, signed 8x10 of a Gorgeously Young Rita Mareno, posed with a guitar and a signed postcard of a spunky, winking Kay Ballard.
