Antique Italian Table Runner Cross Stitch Sampler Asolo Linen

A Wonderful Italian Linen Sampler Table Runner, most likely made by the textile artists at the Embroidery School in Asolo, Italy (stamped in the bottom corner with castle logo and "Asolo")

Natural fine linen with cross stitch sampler design done in blue and olive green. There are willow trees, birds, animals and mythical beasts, including an owl, fox, rabbit, turtle, squirrel, elk, wild boar, ostrich, snakes, lion, unicorn, winged griffin and more! Embroidered fringe edge on top and bottom.

There is one neat repair about 1" around that doesn't detract, otherwise Excellent Condition.

Made about 1900 to 1920. Measures 13½" by 32" with fringe edge.

A Lovely Antique Italian Textile, ideal for framing.
