Seminole Indian Palm Husk Doll with Shell Nails
An Unusual Native American Indian Seminole Folk Art Doll, c.1930, hand made of palm or palmetto husks, 15" tall, stitched features, adorned with real seashells for the lady's jewelry (earrings and brooch), teeth and fingernails. These dolls are much harder to find than the more common Seminole Dolls in patchwork skirts.
Original Eyes were missing, replaced with old black shoe buttons. Attached is an Old Second Place Prize Ribbon from a Tiffin Ohio Doll Show.
