Hector Aguilar 940 Silver 1941 Cuff

Hector Aguilar was a member of the Spratling silver workshop. He left to form his own workshop called Taller Borda in 1939 with the Castillos. This is a wonderful cuff from the 1941 period. It has a genuine hallmark. It is listed in 'Silver Masters of Mexico' by Penny Morrill on page 89. One very similar is also listed in 'Mexico Silver" by Morrill and Berk on page 107.

This splendid example of the Taller Borda workshop is 108.9 grams in weight and 940 silver which is richer than the 925 of Sterling. It is 1 1/4" wide and 6 1/2" in outer circumference. The space for your wrist is >1".

Before and during WWII Spratling and Aguilar sold extensively in the US at Saks and Neiman Marcus and my favorite Gumps.

It is in excellent estate condition. It is the first item I am listing from a long time collector and auctioneer who is opening his private collection to share with others. I am very excited.
