A/O STUNNING and RARE 1928 Lenci Portrait doll Marlene Dietrich

Lenci is known for their quality dolls and made many children and salon lady type models. Portrait dolls however are extremely RARE! Marlene has exquisite facial painting with a very sultry look. Her sultry facial expression is not a common one. Her auburn mohair wig is clean and nice like the day she was made. Very soft and full. She is wearing her original black dress which I believe to be silk with 4 groupings of felt applied flowers, 3 in the front and one in the back. Her dress is very full. Her undergarments are organdy and consists of 4 tiered ruffled pantaloons, slip with ruffled bottom and a stiff piece of fabric that serves almost as a hoop skirt to poof her dress out even more. Just beautiful! She is wearing her original stockings and black felt high heeled shoes. Marlene has lace accents around her neck, chest and fingerless gloves made from the same black flowered lace. This is also of the time period and original to the doll. Her tri-cornered hat completes her ensemble. Her condition is near EXCELLENT. She has some fading to her dress in front probably due to sun exposure at some time. Really not noticeable or distracting while on display. The lace by her chest area is fragile and mentioned for accuracy only. She is wearing 2 necklaces around her neck which may have been added at another time by a previous owner. No repaints of any kind. No moth holes or tears that I see. An EXCEPTIONAL doll RARELY ever seen and in such pristine condition. Her face is the epitomy of Marlene. She is like a little piece of history of days gone by.
