Victorian S & W Hand Carved Shell Pin

Antique Victorian cameo jewelry. This piece is old and I do mean old dating between 1840 and 1860. This pin has a beautiful gold vermeil over silver foundation that is not signed for it's gold content but when pieces were this old they were not required to have these marks. This item combines this lovely gold vermeil with a unique gold gilt floral design that holds a soft pink colored shell with a carved white shell cameo lady over the pink base. The back of this item has a nice pin and "C" clasp that holds great and is signed "S & W" in carved lettering. The pin measures 7/8" long by 3/4" wide and is in excellent condition with wear to the metal or chipping to the shell cameo. A wonderful Victorian S & W hand carved shell pin.
