We present this stunning and hard-to-find full suite or parure of necklace, bracelet, brooch and clip earrings in Monet Jewelers 'Mandira' line from 1974. The necklace and one style of earrings in this line are shown in Alice Vega's book, "Monet: The Master Jewelers" on page 207 (modeled by a very young Rene Russo). The design is a combination of free-form textured and polished links.
The stunning bib necklace measures 17" including the ornate extender. The focal piece is 3" at the widest. It is signed in two places.
The bracelet measures 7 1/4" long by 1 1/4" wide and is double-signed.
The brooch measures 2 1/2" across and is signed on the back.
The clip earrings are 2 1/4" in length. The clip hinge on one earrings has plate missing, showing silver-tone underneath.
Other than the missing plate on the earring, we see only very light wear on any of the pieces, at connection points. This is a beautiful, complete set, ready to show off.
A note to those who may not be familiar with Monet's friction ear clips, taken from Alice Vega's book, "Monet: The Master Jewelers" on page 96: "To apply, simply hold the earring (with the clip part opened) in one hand, pulling the earlobe down with the other hand. Squeeze the earring gently on the ear and then release the lobe. Friction and ridges on the base of the clip will help it stay on securely and comfortably."
