Monet Minaret Clip Earrings Gold-tone

We present this lovely pair of signed Monet gold-tone earrings from the Minaret line of 1956. This pair was made later, based on the shiny yellow plate and textured backs; the earlier earring design had a softer, more muted plating and was a single half-circle swirl, where this pair is a double swirl, overlaid over each other.

The backs have the usual Monet pressure-clip mechanisms and are singed Monet with (c). They measure 1 1/4" wide. The finish is bright and both textured and smooth.

A note to those who may not be familiar with Monet's friction ear clips, taken from Alice Vega's book. "Monet: The Master Jewelers" on page 96:

"To apply, simply hold the earring (with the clip part opened) in one hand, pulling the earlobe down with the other hand. Squeeze the earring gently on the ear and then release the lobe. Friction and ridges on the base of the clip will help it stay on securely and comfortably."
