We are offering this vintage signed Napier "Troubador" brooch in the figure of a man with a hat, playing a guitar or lute. He is wearing a rhinestone-accented scarf. The head is a faux pearl and the body of the instrument is an oval amethyst-colored rhinestone.
The brooch is from the "Around the World Pins" line from the mid-1960s. he is shown in the new book, "The Napier Co.: Defining 20th Century American Costume Jewelry" by Melinda Lewis, on pages 387 and 834. One of the ad pages shown in the book has the word "troubadour" misspelled.
He measures 21/8" in length. The gold-tone finish is heavily textured. The only condition issue with him is that hat is a little loose on its rivet, but still firmly attached.
