This antique hair receiver was made in 1908. It is an English piece and has the full set of English hallmarks: the sterling symbol, the city of Birmingham, the maker's mark, and the date letter for 1908. The glass is very fine, and the top is sterling. The cut glass pattern is called "cane"; it is double mitered with an array of octagons. The weight of the sterling top is 0.6 ounce. Both parts are in excellent condition. The height of the jar is 2.75 inches and the diameter is 2.5 inches. It would make an excellent addition to a vanity table.
