Beautiful covered casserole made by Bauer, probably in the 1950's. It's a beautiful cream corn yellow with black speckles. Uniform, shiny glaze all over. It is 8 1/4 wide and 3 1/4 tall, NOT including the metal rack. This original holder is cool, and oh so Deco looking with it's pointed feet, cutout design all around, and space age looking holders. It's made of a silver metal, but has been coated in copper. A little of this copper has worn off, exposing the silver underneath. Not bad, and since all surfaces are shiny you really have to look closely to notice. The lid is absolutely PERFECT. The bowl is too, except for utensil marks on the bottom of the inside. See photo. An outstanding piece to decorate your 50's kitchen, and would look great actually used for casserole and put in the dinner table. Clearly marked BAUER in the mold on the bottom. weighs about 4 pounds.
