Just gorgeous, antique, Victorian purse that dates from the 1880s-1900. It comes with a clip so it can be worn chatelaine style. However, this is a full size purse, not a small coin purse that would be found dangling from a multi arm chatelaine. As you can see in the photos, it is a striking piece that is in excellent condition. For some reason, the silver frame in my photos have a golden tone, but "in person", the frame is the same color as the silver beads. The purse is made from a deep black, tightly crochet type fabric. On the front is a large, hand beaded, star design that is made from the same beads as the dangling fringe. Like the beaded pattern, there are no missing beads from the fringe. It is lined in soft, kid leather that has a sewn in pocket. The lining is clean, and free of any tears, or separations from the frame. The frame is spectacular! It's heavy, silver colored metal that has a perfectly working, push button latch. The front of the frame is heavily embossed with a flower design. The back side of the purse is plain, and the backside of the frame isn't as ornate as the front, because it was made to be clipped to a belt, or waistband, and worn chatelaine style. The chain handle is sturdy enough to accommodate the weight of the purse and it's heavy frame, and the silver plated clip is just beautiful. The purse, alone, without the frame and fringe measures about 5 by 5 inches. The clip is 1&3/4 inch.
