You don't often see friction toys that are this large, and heavy. The friction motor in this vintage truck is strong, and the truck scoots right along, like new. It was made in the 1940's-early 50's, in the USA, by Lupor Metal products. It measures 10 inches long by 3&1/2 inches tall. It has excellent color graphics. There is a lever on one side, and when you lift it, the front of the bed raises up, so the load can be dumped. There is a hinged, metal flap on the back. The finish is still bright and shiny, and there is very little wear anywhere, but most notably on the two yellow fenders. The inside of the bed is clean, like no dirt, or sand was ever in it. The bottom is clean, with no rust, or oxidation. The box has nice graphics, and is in good condition. One end flap is missing. This was a generic box, used by Lupor, for different varieties of service trucks. While it says, "Big City Plumbing", and , "Stake Truck" on the box, then end flap is marked, "Dump Truck". I love the phrase, printed on the front of the box, "Children must Play. Buy Lupor toys". Lupor was direct competition for Louis Marx Co., but are much harder to find because there were not near as many produced. Great display piece. Collector quality.
I currently have several vintage tin toys, and toy vehicles in my shop, including Marx, Chein and Lupor, and am happy to combine shipping. To see them all, type "Tin toy" in the search box at the top of this page
