This clock was difficult to photograph because of the glare. Please email, if you need more pictures. I've done a lot of research on this clock, and come up with this....The clock, itself has a U.S. patent number of 2360589, which dates it to 1945. The back is stamped, "Spur, Made In U.S.A.", which means it was made by Westclox. It's a wind up clock, never had a cord, and keeps good time. The alarm works, but does not coincide with the time on the alarm set hand. I believe that the face graphic was added at a later time. It says, "Copyright 1955", and along the bottom is, "Warren Techron Co. Ashland, Mass. U.S.A.". Then etched into the back, by hand, is the date "8/30/63". On the center of the hands, is a head of Little Brown Koko's burro. It makes a complete 360 degree turn every hour. A neat display piece, or addition to your collection of Vintage Black Americana.
There were 2 "Little Brown Koko" books Written by Blanche Seal Hunt. and illustrated by Dorothy Wagstaff. Published by American Colortype Company of Chicago and New York . I have a copy of each listed in my shop. To see them, type, "Black Americana" in the search box at the top of this page.
