Charming piece of Americana. A coin silver cup, likely a Baptism cup, in good condition. Decoration is guilloche body, pearl borders and a foliate bordered cartouche with "Annie H. Jones" engraved in the center. It is marked with the Tifts & Whiting punch, permitting dating between the years of 1840-1853. And "Pure Coin Silver", that is: .900 parts silver. It also bears the Numeral "2". Dimensions: 3.25" tall, 2.75" diameter & 4.25" long. Weight is 85 grams. Fine addition for a collection. Anybody out there know Annie H. Jones? A recent customer found a silver box at Charon's Spoils made by her great grand-father! Quite a thrill for me to reunite a family in this way.
