Exquisite! Antique Asian Carved Wood Tray: Mint c1800's
Could not resist this tray, a generous size, for tea perhaps. Hand carved to perfection with floral and foliate accents, a squirrel, a small mouse hidden amongst the verdure. Twining tendrils wind their way across the tray. Just a magnificent carving! So very unusual to find a tray of this delicacy without damage of any kind! No broken stems or leafs. A wood expert I am not. This appears to be rosewood to me. But I am open to information from some of wood experts out there ;)
Dimensions: the tray is 23" long, 15.5" wide. The thickness is very nice as well, 2" at the thickest.
