Decorative Antique German Silver Tray Putto Musical Themes

Very heavy solid silver tray or pin tray exquisitely decorated with repousse angels playing pipes in an ornate garden setting with textured ground. The central portion of the tray is rimmed with stiff leaf border. The edges of the tray have four cartouches, no monograms, four groupings of various musical instruments, leafy fronds, roses and flowing ribbons and bows. An absolutely charming piece, weighing a remarkable 145 grams, given it;s demure size of 5 7/8" by 4". It is marked with the faux hallmarks of the Hanau silversmiths, as well as the French Swan, guarantee for imported silver. I have not tested the tray; so I will err of the side of safety and call it .800 silver.
