Antique French Sterling Silver Serving Bowl Roussel-Doutre
Good antique serving bowl made of the finest French .950 sterling by renowned Parisian master silversmith Eugene Roussel-Doutre. The elegant contoured rim is accented with scrolling foliate and rocailles, surmounting layers of encircling engraved rocailles bordered with foliate enhanced strapping and a textured ground. Condition is good; there are signs of use, chiefly comprised on shallow deformations along the bottom of the sides and some dings on the bottom. Nothing noticeable if your plan is to actually use the bowl. And it is nice to find a fine French sterling piece that you're not afraid to use ;) ....not to mention affordably priced. The styling is simple enough to blend nicely with other serving pieces, yet distinctive, classic and quite lovely.
