Antique French Guilloche Sterling Hors d'Oeuvre Set
Medallion pattern, 4 pc hors d'oeuvre set by Henin & Cie, Paris 1896. Comprised of a bonbon scoop, a fork and 2 spoons, the set has a monogram in the medallion: TM. Condition is good. Important to note, please, that the fork and one of the spoons have been reset. So there is a slight gap on these pieces between handle and service end. The guilloche is in fine condition. These pieces are .950 sterling silver; each portion of each piece bears the Minerve 1st titre. The pieces also bear the maker's punch for Henin & Cie, Paris 1896; successor to Henin & Vivier. Included with the set is a tart or pie serving piece. It has a different monogram and a different maker. It is .950 sterling, guilloche medallion pattern. It has a flaw in that the business end has a slight bend in the sterling. So, rather than sell it separately, I am just going to include it with the hors d'oeuvre set; leaving it to the buyer to repair or leave as is. The maker of the pie server is Hemon & Fils, Paris 1876. Given the imperfections, I've priced this at approximate scrap value. I don't quite have the heart to scrap an antique. And these pieces are certainly charming in spite of the flaws!
The combined silver weight for the 4 hors d'oeurvre pieces is 315 grams. The pie server weighs 85 grams. The pie slice is 11.75" long, around 2.5" at the widest. The hors d'oeurvre pieces are all in the 7 5/8"-7.75" range.
