Nice c1897 Victorian Folk Art Oil Painting of a Dog, Saint Bernard
A nice antique (dated 1897) Folk Art Oil Painting of a Dog. The painting is well done and is signed and dated on the lower left "C. Z. B. 1897". The painting is executed on a wood panel with nice beveled edges which form it's own frame, it has a gold painted painted (there is loss to the gold on lower left edge). The painting measures 17" x 13". It is in very good overall condition. There are a few small scratches underneath the paint that must have been on the panel before the painting was started but they are hard to notice in the overall scene. The painting would be perfect in a primitive or country decor.
