9 Art Nouveau, Art Deco Silk Embroidered Butterfly Moth Appliques
A lovely collection of Art Nouveau, Art Deco silk appliques. The appliques are hand embroidered with silk and depict butterflies. These date circa 1920-1930s and were premium for Turmac Tobacco. The appliques are known as "zijdjes" which is Dutch. There were series of flowers, series of very small carpets, series of flags, dolls, sports, mickey mouse, butterflies, birds and so on. The appliques are in like new unused condition. The largest measures 5 1/2" x 2 1/2". They would be lovely on clothing, linens or pillows.
