19thC Reverse Painting on Glass Boy with Animals
A very interesting antique Folk Art Painting on Glass. This is a reverse painting meaning the art work is on the back of the glass not the front. The painting depicts a young boy with a horse, cow, goat, sheep and a dog. It is well done yet naive. The frame is contemporary. Overall dimensions are 13 3/8" x 11". the painting is in good condition for it's age and fragile nature nature. There is flaking to the paint mainly on the bottom and right side, it effects the dark colors, see photos. The glass itself has lots of bubbles and swirls and was probably hand blown. The Reverse Painting would be perfect in a 19th Century Folk Art collection, it is unique!
