This great little Art Deco book by G. Selma Sauer still maintains it's dust jacket. It's called "The Patchy Zoo" and was published by Frederick Warne and Co., Inc. New York and London. The copyright date is 1931 and the Jersey City Printing Company did the Lithography. The premise of the book is that two kids had planned a day at the zoo with Grandma, but it rained all day. Grandma told the Grandkids to take a nap and while they sleep, she sews her grandchildren a patchy zoo out of patches and swatches of material. The animals are brightly colored and very Art Deco and modernist in style. It is a darling book in very nice condition. 99% of the book is in excellent condition. Now I will tell you what is not perfect. The dust jacket is soiled and has lots of tears and nibbles around the edges. Page 14/15 has a small 1/2" tear at the inner bottom of the page near the spine. 22/23 has a 1 inch tear at the inner bottom of the page near the spine. There is slight yellowing to the interior pages of the book. This book is in overall excellent condition. It would be a great book for someone who loves sewing, quilting, art, hobbies etc. The book measures 11 1/4" high x 9" wide. It is 44 pages long.
