This is a fabulous purse for all of you Art Deco lovers! It's a gold-tone Elgin American Compact purse, which is designed to hold everything you need for a night on the town. The compact slides into a little "purse or holder with a handle". It is easily removed from this whenever you like. The "purse has a little pocket on the back, just big enough for a comb and maybe a credit card or some cash. Inside the compact, there is a place for powder, a compartment for lipstick and even another compartment that has an unknown purpose, but a great place for a bit of cash. The mirror has some loss of silver and is also a little cloudy, but still works well enough to put a swipe of lipstick and powder and go on your way! The mirror also comes forward to reveal another compartment, perhaps for cigarettes or whatever you need. The exterior is has an etched floral design, while the inside of the purse has the beautiful leaping gazelles and geometric foliage.
