Rare Blue Glass "Skedden " Pattern with Saphire Blue Pie Crust Chimney !!!
Blue Light was deemed to be a Healthier Form of Light Exposure Craze back in the 1880's due to a Quack Doctor's Report ! The Saphire Blue Chimney is the Earliest Pie Crust that I've seen to Date. It has some Crude flashing on the top center seam from Hand finishing the Crimping process.
Cobalt Blue Oil Lamp has the "Star Broaches" Pattern in the Fount, and the "Stars Entwined" Pattern in the Base. A few nice air bubbles seen in the top of the fount. has the original old pasted Brass Collar.
The Fancy Embossed antique #2 size Burner is marked & Dated ; "P. & A. Co. * Pat'd 11,6,83 & 8,17,97"
Lamp Measures 8 1/2 inches High from base to top of collar, and 16 1/4 inches overall to top of Chimney, and has a 4 3/4 inch base diameter.
Weighs 2 Pound and 4.5 Ounces.
No Cracks or exposed chips. Base has a few bottom chips and tool marks underneath which have been polished smooth.
