Raised Glass Lettering "B.R.& P.Ry" Railroad Globe (1885 to 1932) ; Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway Lantern Globe !
Started in 1885 BR&P Railway emerged following the reorganization of its predecessor the "Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railroad". The foreclosure had been forced by the Union Trust Company of New York City. On October 16,1885, Adrian Iselin bought the remains of the R&P.
Then the end came Officially in 1932, when the line was absorbed into the "Baltimore and Ohio Railroad".
Clear Glass High Globe Marked on reverse with embossed Letter "CNX" was manufactured by Corning.
Early Lantern Globe Stands Exactly 5 1/2 inches high, 2 1/2 inch diameter at top & 3 1/4 inches at bottom fitter diameter.
Glass is 1/8 inch thick.
Weighs 12.1 Ounces.
Condition : Excellent Undamaged Glass with normal scuffing from lantern frame with factory Rough-Cut & Rough-Polished Top & Bottom edges. Has a couple of straw marks near the CNX Logo with lots of trapped air bubbles consistent with EAPG.
