Wick Trimmers / Snuffers Marked "H.S.B. & Co." Ca. 1880's.

Steel Shears with a Brass Catch Guard for wick waste material !

Die Stamp marked "H.S.B. & Co." which stands for Hibbard, Spencer and Bartlett Company. This company was formed in 1882 after "Hibbard and Spencer" had already been together in business. Then when A.C. Bartlett joined them, the company merged to be known as "H.S.B. & Co."

This is a finely made pair of flat wick Snuffers / Trimmer. (Snuffers originates from the term named for the waste material of wicks) The Finger loops are Offset for Picking them up from a table , which avoids the need for the old style three feet.

It measures 6 3/8 inches Long and are 2 inches Wide at the Finger Loop Grips. Weighs 2.5 Ounces.
