Empire Period Jewelry in a "Mourning" or possibly a "Living Sweetheart" remembrance piece,for a woman who's Man has gone off to fight the Civil War.

Photo shows a Man in his late 20's to 30's wearing a White Shirt and Tie, with an Overcoat or Jacket. Looking at his mouth it appears that he might have a bit of Snuff in his lower Lip. His perfectly snipped Locket of Hair in the Obverse of the Broach is a Sandy Blonde to a Brown Color.

Great Tubular Designed Oval with Deep Rose Buds and engraved edges, and Opposing Oval Discs at each 90 degrees !

Measures Overall 1 7/8 inches High, and 1 9/16 inches Wide. Weighs 0.5 Ounces complete, with an estimated 0.25 Ounces for the glass & Hair, with an estimated 0.25 Ounces for the Gold Frame.

Condition : Guaranteed 14 K Gold Frame & Photo/Hair Enclosure. Original Pin Back Hardware. No Damages to the Beveled Edge Glass Ovals. One abrasion on the Back of the tubular oval frame just below the pin attachment. Seen in 5th photo.
