Clambroth White & Opaque Blue Inkwell Stand with Ormolu Brass Wire Floral Form !
The Pressed Glass Clambroth White Leaf Trays are Cut & Polished on the top edge Details to Perfection !
The Inkwells still fit tightly and are Undamaged with Gilded Brass caps. The Inkwell Cap is inscribed underneath with the Roman Numerals "XVI" , and the Sander's Cap is inscribed underneath "XVIIII".
The Overall Form is Ormolu Brass Wire Mounts with Flowers. The round inkwell holder Sockets are also Embossed with " Leaves & Acorns "!
Measures 8 3/4 inches Wide between the Leaf Tips. Leaves are 3 3/4 inches wide. Stands 5 3/8 inches from base to top of pen stand flower.
Weighs 1 Pound and 1.4 Ounces.
Included is the pictured "Mother of Pearl" Feather Ink Pen with nickel plated shaft.
Clambroth Whites & Opaque Blues are Generally Attributed to American Sandwich Glass Ca. 1840-60's , BUT were also copied by the French Ca. 1870 as "Blue Opaline Glass". I believe it to be French.
Condition of Glass components are Superb with a couple of normal green age spots on the brass frame. The White Glass Leaf tray on the left is ever so slightly loose in the plaster mounted brass socket, 1/8 of an inch wiggle. Right Leaf is still tight.
