Fenton Cobalt Blue Carnival Glass Pitcher Hand Painted Cherry Blossom
Made by Fenton, circa 1910 Carnival Glass in cobalt blue with hand painted Cherry Blossoms. Beautiful pitcher with gold, blue, purple, green, iridescent. Base and handle are cobalt blue. The price reflects a crack in the handle at the top where it meets the vessel (see photo) the only flaw with this antique piece. Painting is 99% intact, The pitcher stands 10" tall This pattern is pictured on page 38 of "Fenton Glass: The First 25 Years" by William Heacock Pattern also pictured in "Standard Encyclopedia of Carnival Glass; 9th edition" page 57 While both Fenton & Northwood produced this pattern, the two mould lines (rather than 4) on this Cobalt Blue Cannonball-shape Water Pitcher indicates a Fenton product.
This pattern is also known variously as "ENAMELED CHERRIES", "ENAMELED CHERRIES & LITTLE FLOWERS", "ENAMELED CHERRIES & BLOSSOMS".
