Antique Victorian EAPG Engraved Etched Fern Crystal Covered Compote

Beautiful covered compote in an antique plain pattern. This is a 19th Century Early American Pressed glass piece that I have not been able to identify. Even though it is a plain pattern, its lovely shape, fancy scalloped foot and fern engraving on both pieces make it irresistible!

Measurements: Bowl measures 6-7/8" wide and 2-1/2" deep; bottom section alone is 7" tall; entire piece stands 11" tall; round base measures 4-3/8" wide.

Weight: nearly 3 pounds.

The glass turns a deep yellow color under a black light attesting to its antique age.

Excellent condition! Having handled many pieces of Victorian glass over the years, this one is in surprisingly nice condition, almost as if it were purchased and placed in a storage cabinet for years. There are no chips or cracks or fleabites on either the lid or base and the glass is scratch free. The most I could find was a tiny rough spot on the scalloped foot. I can see on the stem upon close inspection that there are a couple of minor manufacturing things, just some roughness on the stem that occurred when it was formed. There is also a tiny sand inclusion in the glass on the bowl which occurred during the manufacturing process. This piece is super nice! You won't be disappointed!
