Wonderful and very early wooden burl bowl exudes character from a long gone era. Used to mix dough, gather eggs or berries, it may well have been used as a serving bowl with a flat base for sitting even on the table. It measures 8" across and 3-3/4" high. The walls are thick, as much as 3/4" in some spots.
A fine piece of Americana for your primitive collection.
