1903 History of Egypt 13 Vol. by G. Maspero, First Edition Nationale

For the discriminating collector, we are pleased to offer this fine, complete 13 volume set of THE HISTORY OF EGYPT, CHALDEA, SYRIA, BABYLONIA and ASSYRIA, by G. Maspero, edited by A. H. Sayce and translated by M. L. McClure. Copyright in 1903, this is #774 of 1000 sets from the EDITION NATIONALE, that were made available for England and America.

Published by Grolier and printed by William Clowes & Son, Ltd., of London, this set contains over 1200 colored plates and illustrations. Done in maroon cloth boards with gilt top edges, this is a fine set that will enhance any library.

An interesting note about G. Maspero, Howard Carter began his career as a 17-year old under Maspero's tutelage at the Bulak Museum. And as we all know, Carter led the expedition that uncovered the tomb of King Tut in 1922.
