Rare and Impressive, 19th century Mintons Landscape and Seascape Plates designed and hand-painted by Henry Thomas Mitchell (circa 1824- 1908).

Expertly rendered this set of six are Exquisite Works of Art . Each plate reveals a magnificent hand painted scene, each one different , each one more exquisite. Artistically and Flawlessly rendered in clear and splendid color, each minute detail displays a genteel beauty in a gem like painting set within a highly decorative large gold cartouche and is further embellished with gilt medallions, Sevres blue colored ribbons and roses....Breathtakingly Beautiful!

Bio. Henry Thomas Mitchell was a most important artist and decorator. He was a medalist of both the Paris and Vienna Exhibitions (1867, 1873). Celebrated as an animal and landscape painter his splendid works are remarkable for their finish, their delicacy of treatment and their peculiar purity and beauty. Queen Victoria was so impressed with the superb beauty of Michell's plate sets that she purchased sets for both Balmoral and Sandringham castles and established royal commissions of his plates for the marriages of the members of the Royal family.

For anyone passionate about Spectacular porcelain this set is Remarkable and Historically Significant. PROVENANCE : Gift from the Prince of Wales, King Edward VII, to Warrant Officer Jack Fraser, of the Irish Guards Regiment. A letter from the estate will accompany the sale of this exquisite set.

The outstanding form and superb artistry of Henry Thomas Michell's work has secured recognition in all parts of the world, circa 1867- 1902. Condition : Mint no repairs , chips, cracks or repairs.
