MEISSEN circa 1800 , THREE PIECE, HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN INKSTAND
In pristine condition with original and beautifully matching circular pots, (ink pot and sander) , all original, all covers intact, resting on their beautiful hand painted Celeste blue tray.
Superbly hand decorated, with exceptional color, and embellished with an allover elaborate scalloped gilt edge ornamentation they are in the classical style of the 1800's. Seven different hand painted gilt edged panels show wonderful polychrome colors of pink , blue, rust, and yellow, typical of famous Watteau paintings.
Condition: Excellent, no noticeable chips or cracks, the painted portions remain brilliant and fresh, there is of course some age appropriate very minor wear to some gilt edges which one would expect of a superb set of this vintage.
This is a exceptional set of inordinate fine details and craftsmanship... It will truly be the highlight of anything it rests upon, whether it be on a desk in the bedroom or on a table in the Living Room ... this is a conversation piece and absolutely eye catching.
