Nippon-Morimura Hand Painted Flowers Trivet

A very lovely trivet plate, or hot plate, having hand painted flowers on the face and golden rim. It would also make a nice wall decoration. It bears the Morimura green M inside of a wreath backstamp and reads "Hand painted Nippon." The mark was used circa 1911-1921 for Nippon porcelain which later evolved to Noritake China and the backstamps changed along the way. Nippon means Japan in these early pieces but later was used as a trade name.

It is 6 inches wide and 3/4 inches high. The condition is very good for it's age. There is a small amount of loss on the golden paint of the rim and a pinpoint fleck of paint loss on the green leaf lower left. No cracks or serious flaws at all.
