A photograph that tantalizes a story in so many different layers, at the turn of the century, the completion of the Uganda Railway in 1901 provided easier access to the interior highlands of British East Africa, where large game, especially elephants, lions, Cape Buffalo and rhinoceros, was plentiful. The white hunter served these paying customers as guide, teacher, and protector. This original photograph shows a white seasoned hunter in his American home with an impressive Remington Model 12 rifle that is aggressively poking through the soft cotton filigree styled curtains of his "Man Cave" in search for more domestic prey in the year 1909.
8' x 10' photograph is housed in an exquisite near mint 11' ½ x 13' ½ inch Eastlake Frame
