Early American Sea Captain's Brass Horse Hide Telescope Spyglass

A Fine early American Seaman's Brass Spy Glass covered in horse hide over oak. There is no makers mark anywhere on this telescope that I can locate. In my collection of rare daguerreotypes I own a dag of a Charleston, South Carolina Sea Captain holding the same type of telescope. I am 99 % certain this spy glass was made in the United States well before the Civil War.

The telescope measures 23 inches in length.

Condition Report: Missing lens covers but optics is still in good condition.
