19th Century Oil Painting The HAUNTING
A well rendered oil on board of a rather macabre scene showing an unclothed man descending from the grave only to meet the Grim Reaper and his deadly entourage. The painting has the artist signature of `Kella' in the lower right hand corner. I have not found any listed artist with that last name. If indeed it is a last name? The additional use of a palate knife to apply thick rich colors to this painting gives it a three dimensional affect. The painting dates from the late 19th century and measures 18' x 22 inches including original frame.
