Interesting letter written April 23rd 1863 by one William Cromwell to his uncle about real estate of brother Jacob.
William states that any real estate being offered during these times (Civil War) is certainly a bad business move. The letter was written just one week before the Battle of Chancellorsville.
Letter reflects a great deal of tension and stress in the air throughout Washington D.C. as the south under Lee & Stonewall Jackson were making great strides on the battlefield.
One page two-sided letter.
