This is an outstanding vintage Kachina Doll made by master Hopi carver Raymond Parkett. This Hopi doll among a few others presently listed in my shop recently came from a now deceased New Mexico State Professor.
This superb 15" inch tall example shows the mighty Hopi warrior dancer in full regalia. The sense of motion and balance of this piece is truly remarkable. Parkett created a masterpiece without question.
Carved completely out of one piece of cottonwood with the exception of the feathers in his (real hair),fur, leather and the bells. Realism is seen in the solidity of the body, which has great motion and a truly natural stance. The hands and fingers are well detailed and very realistic.
Signed on the bottom by Raymond Parkett.
